BEFORE
AFTER
Does anyone else dread the time of the week that the playroom has gotten so bad, that something has to be done? The absolute worst time of the week for me is that time! I put it off as long as I can, then trying to be a good mother and teach my children that they have to clean up after themselves, I round them up and say, "We need to clean up the playroom." Then the moans, crying, whining, telling me they didn't make the mess, telling me who did make the mess, etc. starts. That is about the time I think why am I not doing it by myself?! So we start cleaning, by assigning everybody a job. Will lines up the totes against the wall, Addison starts rounding up the books, Wyatt, well with Wyatt, I am just glad if he is in the room. And Jessie is usually helping by undoing all the stuff we clean up. So after alot of "stop playing with every toy you pick up", "Addison stop reading every book you pick up!", "Wyatt please put SOMETHING away!", "UGH! Jessie don't dump out the tote!". And about an hour and a half, and a couple of excedrin for me the playroom is clean! But as I type this they have gotten a car track down. I just begged Will to not get anything out at least for a little while! You want to know what he said to me? "Mom we are going to put it up when we are done." That is a nice thought, but I won't hold my breath!

I bribed my boys with a whole can of Sprite today if they would just clean up without a fight. They didn't get any Sprite. :( Maybe next time.
Ok Sis, its bad when you have to tell your daughter to stop reading a book! You are a stronger woman than me, Ev's play room sometimes stays that way for months......I'm a bit of a slacker too....
